So, I took a week off from my 2 page a week challenge... Last weekend, I co-hosted a scrapbooking retreat with 33 scrapbookers! It was soooo much fun, and the ladies all got so much accomplished - so much so, that I felt I didn't need to work on my own albums - just for one week!
So here they are... my 2 pages for my Vegas Album.
These pages host a great tip: when on vacation, wake up early one morning (usually 5:30 or 6:00 am) and walk the resort to take pictures. The lighting is amazing and there are very few people so you will get great scenery pictures and not have to crop/clone people out of them!
Another great tip: take some architectural photos and use them as backdrops to your album pages (like I did in the 'Gardens' page)

After a busy week of life in general, the weekend mornings are for me... It's time for me to enjoy 'playing' with my photos and releasing those creative juices! I've challenged myself to create two 2-page layouts each weekend. It's not much, and when I'm working for a client, I certainly complete more (usually do this much in an hour)... but this is time for ME, to enjoy MY photos and the creative process while having my morning coffee.

I'm slowly completing our Vegas 2015 vacation digital scrapbook - yay!
I was able to use a 'clip art' road that I googled; I cut out the white background and softened the edges using a filter. I also Google mapped the area of Route 66 we traveled on and used 'print screen' to copy the image and paste into the layout.
It's amazing the sense of accomplishment you feel when you set a goal and complete just four pages a week!
Recently, someone asked me how many pages the album would be... when I said 100, they thought I was NUTS! Well, maybe I am! But I figure that if you invest in a vacation and take the pictures, you are better off spending the money on a book you will have forever than trinkets and t-shirts you pick up in the souvenir shop, plus you should print the pictures anyway, so why not in a beautiful book?
